I love you to pieces and I'm praying that God will give you peace through this time of loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers always. Elaine
I've known Junior for over 60 years. Went to school with him, played football with him and had a lot of fun with him. He was an incredible football
player in school and later at Texas A & M. When we scrimmaged (practiced), we felt if we could tackle Hursel then we could easily tackle anybody on the opposing team. That proved to be true.
Since I relocated to Paris from Fort Smith after my retirement in 2001, Jr and I have been very close and would hang out together. I already miss him. He was very emotional and so very caring about others.
It was my honor and pleasure to pay a tribute to my long time friend at the funeral service. Just hope the family got some comfort from it.
To all of Hursel's family, you have our deepest sympathy. He was a Awesome man & will be missed greatly. All we can really want is for our loved ones to be without pain & Hursel is without pain now. He is looking down on his family, which is his legacy, and he is so proud. Prayers for all the family...
So sorry to learn of Jr's death. Am sorry I could not attend his service. Sue said it was beautiful. My prayers are with you.
With all my respect... Sorry for your loss.. Prayers for the family.

Junior Henson has always been a part of my life since I was in high school. There are so many things that go through my mind at this time and they are thoughts that make me proud to say he was my friend. From a young man to an older gentleman , Junior was always concerned about those people who were in his life.
When my Dad was in the nursing home, Junior was a steady visitor to see him and all the other patients there. This was just what Junior was all about----a caring human being.
Even though Junior will no longer be physically a part of this community, you will always be a part of our memories. God bless you my friend, it has been a good ride for those of us were fortunate enough to have known you.
I sure will miss seeing your smiling face at every eagle football game and coming through my line at CV's to get your weekly bundle of bananas. You were such a sweet, kind man and you will be dearly missed by everyone in this town. I know you are in a better place, with no pain but it just doesn't seem fair to lose someone so precious. I'll see you on the other side Hershel. I know you'll be smiling down on us every day!
I've known Hursel since 1986 while being in the funeral business at Smith Mortuary in Charleston and now Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home. I have lots of good memories of Hursel and also sad memories. The largest and also the saddest funeral I was ever associated with was at the death of Jim, Misty and Shae Johnson. Hursel was a good friend and a tough guy with a BIG heart.

I will miss talking to you Hursel. You are and always will be remembered as a good man. Rest in peace and tell mom and dad I said hello.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your sweet daddy. He was a good man who loved you guys very much he always had a smile on his face. He would bring bananas to all of the residents at Paris Health and Rehab and my husband (deceased now) enjoyed and looked forward to getting that banana. They would visit and laugh and talk. Now he is in Heaven enjoying feeling better and running. Please remember that i will always be praying for you n your family
Rest in peace my friend. I will miss you.
We are so saddened to hear of Hursel's passing. He was a true friend to our family as well as many, many more. Through all his pain and suffering, he had so much compassion for others. He will certainly be missed by family as well as the whole town. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Linda, May God Bless!
I was saddened today when my brother Billy Bob notified me of Hursel's passing. My family has always respected and loved Hursel's kindness and thoughtfulness. Even with his own suffering, he took time to visit with them every chance he could. I saw him last, when he made the extreme effort to come to my Mother's visitation last July. May he rest with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, and all others who have preceded him in death. Praise God,
Jim Spicer
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God bring you peace and comfort.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Henson family.
I am surprised to hear of Hersel's passing. He was a good man that just would not stop. I learned of his weekly visit to the Paris Health and Rehab Center while my dad was there. He always brought everyone a banana. His thoughtfulness and friendliness always impressed me and he would often stop by the house just to visit a bit. He was surely filled with love.
God's peace to the family and all who loved him.
Condolences to the Henson family. May God be with you and may loving memories fill your heart with peace and joy. Turning to God in prayer can be a source of true comfort. Please be assured of God's love (1 Peter 5:7).

Your family is in our thoughts & prayers.
We are sad to hear about Hursel. When we bought our building from him a few years ago, he came by to visit often. We heard SO many great stories from him. Praying for the family.
With great sadness I received a phone call this evening telling me that Hursel had passed. All I could think of was this great man that hurt and was all crippled up that cared so much for other people. I whitnessed this when Dad was fighting his battle with cancer. It was only then that I took notice of his actions. If only all of us could be so unselfish. Rest in peace dear friend and thank you so much for the great example. You will be greatly missed.
Sorry to hear about Hursels passing Our prayers are with the family .

My deepest condolences to the Henson family. Mr. Henson gave so much to the community. It is sad to hear of his passing. My prayers are with you as you honor his wonderful life.
I am sad to hear about the death of Hershel. If your from Paris then you know this man. Who knew him loved him. Im sorry to the family, and pray that you all find peace during the coming days. .
I was shocked to see that Hursel had died. Living in Prairie Grove, AR I don't hear about illness of people that I grew up knowing in Paris.
He was older and ahead of me in school, but I recall what a great football player he was and I lived down the street for about 3 years from his ex wife. I would see him occasionally while I lived in Paris. I graduated from Paris High in 1962. My sister, Sonja Conley Fletcher, knew him better than I since He was about the same age as Her 1st husband, Guy Conley. My condolences to his family.
