Robert David Jones

April 8, 1952 - August 22, 2018

Robert ''Bob'' David Jones, 66, of Sherwood, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. He was born April 8, 1952, to the late Hayward D. and Lavodia Rochell Jones in Carlisle. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda F. Jones; and sister, Jean Sears.

Bob was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. His career was in management. Bob was a caring and loving man, evidenced by the devotion and caring he did for his first wife, Wanda, who had breast cancer. He remarried December 3, 2010 to Crystal Jones.

Bob was a professional photographer, loved to do stained glass, and write short stories. He enjoyed listening to music and reading. He loved all his family dearly.

Bob was a fighter and overcame many obstacles regarding his health and physical conditions, but always was the optimist.

In October 2012 he received his LVAD and helped many nursing students understand the LVAD process. He was loved by the Baptist hospital staff.

Bob is survived by his wife, Crystal Jones; two step-daughters; brother, Tom Jones (Charlene) of Piedmont, AL; sister Joy McPherson of Lavaca; and nine step-grandchildren; and a host of loving extended family.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116. Burial to follow at Walter's Chapel Cemetery in Carlisle. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

I met Bob and Wanda many years ago through writers' groups. They were two of my favorite people. Bob always hugged me when he saw me. My own health problems forced me to stop writing and stop attending meetings about ten years ago. I did not even know Wanda had passed. The world needs more people like Bob. I will miss him greatly, but know I will see him again someday. If there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. Del Garrett knows how to contact me beyond my e-mail address.
