January 19, 1951 - June 19, 2018
Phillip ''Phil'' James Langley, Sr., 67, of North Little Rock, died June 19, 2018. He was born January 19, 1951 to the late Jack Robert and Myra Rainwater Langley in Atlanta, GA. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Van Langley.
Phil originally owned the Red Door Gallery in 1981, where he enjoyed framing, painting, collecting unique antiques and greeting the public and local artists. While Phil had his battles with depression and anxiety, he found refuge in his family and peace in painting, music, and his love of soccer.
The family is comforted to know his artwork hangs in many homes, businesses and the Clinton Presidential Library.
Phil is survived by his wife, Nancy Caroline Langley; three sons, Phillip James Langley, Jr. (Heather) of Austin, TX, Marc David Langley (Stacy) of North Little Rock and Nick Andrew Hargett (fiancée Kristen Lacy) of Little Rock; daughter, Erin Elizabeth Dail (Brian) of North Little Rock; six grandchildren: Maegan, Luke, Maddox, Henry, Charlie, and Oliver; two sisters, Nina Simmons (Bill) of Huntsville, AL, and Thelma Lewis (Tom) of Cumming, GA; and twin brother, Mike David Langley of Hoschton, GA.
Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 PM on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116. Family will receive friends following service.

I was so very sorry to hear of Phil's passing. I have really missed seeing and visiting with him at the Antique Mall since his retirement. Phil has been framing for me since the 80's soon after he opened Red Door Gallery on JFK. He was a very gifted man in his talents he had and I wished I had some of those talents myself. He was always a pleasure to talk to and visit with and hear about his wife and kids and so forth and his grandkids. He will be missed deeply and hope he is finally at peace and resting with no more anxiety or pain.
My deepest condolences to the family. Phil's father, Jack, was my grandfather's brother. I just received the news from my mother of his passing and didn't realize I had family here in Arkansas. Our prayers are with and for you during this difficult time. God's blessings to you all.
About 28 years ago I assisted Phil in coaching a soccer team on which his son, Marc, and my son, Evan, played. Our paths, unfortunately, did not intersect again, but that brief association with him was a truly special experience which I hold dear in my memory. He was one fine person to know!

Dear Aunt Nina and Langley family, I am sad for your loss and pray for your comfort, family love, and wonderful memories. My memories are from long ago at "GaGa's" house in Decatur. In the picture on this page, I recognize the same smile in my mind. God bless you all.

Nancy,
I am so sorry for your loss and very saddened by the loss of such a talented, gentle and kind man. Phil did so much framing for me and my family. I love all the prints I got from him and value the effort and personal touch he put into all of his work. I will remember him fondly and keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Nancy,
I am SO sorry to hear of Phil's passing. Know that you and your family are in my prayers.
Love you my friend! See you soon.
So heartbroken to hear about "Coach" Langley's passing. He instilled a love of soccer in me and I still remember the great times we had as kids. Now that we coach our kids, Marc and I were just talking about how we don't know how he put up with us. I will always remember the good times we had.
Nancy,
I am so sorry for your’s & your family’s loss.
You & your’s will be in my thoughts & prayers.
It started because of the'candy-apple-red, nekkid female' standing on the sidewalk (at the bottom of the stairwell) leading up to Phil's orig. 'RED DOOR GALLERY' - H at JFK. Back then, everyone was lured by that crimson babe -- but after they met PHIL, 'he' was the reason you'd return. The charming fellow offered craftsmanship, speed, unique selections and 'just his adorable self.' We were friends since the 1980s - when the world seemed young - and all our tomorrows were full of ideas, promises and excitement.
The photo chosen to accompany this site is perfection - gentle Phil with a blissful smile and an inviting wave. My condolences and prayers to his beloved family. (Phil would never guess his demise would produce so many tears - mine included.)
Erin and Family,

Dear Langley Family,
We will miss this talented fellow who had a smile for others no matter what. We’re so sorry his time on earth was shorter than it should have been. For all those family and friends who knew him, he leaves us with saddened hearts. The only comfort can be that he is at rest and at peace now.
Condolences,
Donna and Jim
