January 5, 1923 - May 7, 2018

Jack Brown, Sr., age 95, of Sherwood joined his Lord and loved ones in Heaven on May 7, 2018. Jack was born January 5, 1923 in Monticello, to the late Bromwhit and Mattie Smith Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Russell Brown, Willie Brown, Mary Kathryn Walls, Martha Stricklin and grandson, William Charles Brown. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Lola Faye Brown. He was a loving father to his four children: Cecilia Fallert of St. Peters, Missouri, Bill (Deb) Brown of Forney, Texas, Jack (Paulette) Brown and Pam Huddleston of Sherwood. He was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Jack grew up and attended school in England, Arkansas. Jack and Faye eloped during World War II, before he left to serve as a Sergeant Medical Technician/4th Grade in the 185th Hospital outside London, England. Jack also served during the Korean War at Brookes Army Medical Center. Jack and Faye raised their family in Pine Bluff where he was a sales supervisor for Holsum Bakery. He retired to Sherwood to be close to his family that he loved dearly. He was a member of First Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank staff at Woodland Hills Healthcare Center in Jacksonville for the loving care given to their father.

So sorry for your loss may you find peace and comfort in the words spoken at
2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4" Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God
