TSGT USAF (Ret) Doyle Wayne Wilfong, 79, of Sherwood went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 22, 2015. He was born to the late William Roscoe and Angela Alma Shaw Wilfong in McCrory, AR.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and three brothers.
He was a member of Indianhead Lake Baptist Church. Doyle served in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Bronze Star among numerous other medals.He retired after 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. Doyle was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
Doyle was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce; five children, Mickey (Tammy) of Enid, OK, Rick (Yvonne) of Poyen, AR, Steve (Terrie) of England, AR; Rusty (Patti) of Ruston, LA, Lynne Roberts (Jimmy) of Sherwood, AR; fifteen grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Krystal, Jerod, Todd, Corey, Bryan, Chris, Tracey, Kyle, Morgan, Scott, Amanda, Teresa and Jay; nineteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Brobst of Mobile, AL; one brother, Jimmy Wilfong of Leslie, AR; brothers-in-law, Donald Beck (Betty) of Marked Tree, AR and Larry Beck (Bobbie) of Waco, TX plus a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Indianhead Lake Baptist Church, 8601 Indianhead Dr., Sherwood, AR 72120. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at 10 a.m., Friday at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianhead Lake Baptist Church Building Fund.
