Although we have only known Virgil for a brief time, we feel so blessed to have known such a kind man. He and Bonnie welcomed my Dad and me into the family with open arms in 2008. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. May God provide you with comfort and peace in knowing you will see him again some day.

I am so sorry to hear about Virgil. I had Treasure Land Flea Market in Gravel Ridge and he came in shortly after we opened in 2011. I told him he looked familiar but we could not figure where I would have known him from. The next time he came in I told him that he looked just like some one I knew. Then it dawned on me. I said you look like my daddy and I asked him if he had ever known any Hilliards. He said of course he did. His mother was a Hilliard. She was my grand pa Hilliards sister. We had never known much about any relatives so I was so happy to meet him. He came in a few more times. I told my husband a few days ago that I wanted to call Virgil and stay in touch. But we closed the store in July and his phone number is in a box in storage. Too long a story so I apologize. But I was so happy to meet a family member and he was so kind. He wanted me to meet more of the family and I regret wasting time. I am so sorry for the families loss.
Bonnie and Family,
Dan and I are so sorry to hear about Virgil. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family. He will be missed by all who knew him!

My brother, Virgil, was a great man, loving brother, who never said an unkind word to anyone.
He spent time helping our parents as they grew older and he was always there for all of us through the years. His wife, Bonnie, was the love of his life and a perfect mate and they had so much love and joy together. I already miss him .

Virgil was such a kind and considerate brother. He taught me so many things as we grew up together; how to shoot, how to hunt, how to play "hide-and-seek" without ever getting caught, how to drive........ What a great honor and blessing to be his sister. I will miss him forever.
