Charlene Elizabeth Wheat, 73, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Charlene was born in Holly Grove, AR to Charles Noah and Elizabeth Ferguson McCorkle. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Austin Ussery and her sister, Martha Townsend.
Charlene was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Charlene enjoyed her family, they were the joy of her life.
Charlene is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James Walter Wheat; four daughters, Patricia Diana Dixon (Bill), Connie Bobbitt, Jamie Wheat all of North Little Rock and Tina Ussery (Rodney) of Springdale; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Pledger and three brothers, Michael, Charles, and Bobby McCorkle; and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400) with Pastor Happy Caldwell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.
