Elmer Morgan, Jr.
April 28, 1939 - April 7, 2012

Elmer Morgan, Jr., 72, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, April 7th, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood and previously at Second Baptist Church of Pine Bluff.

Morgan was retired from Entergy Corporation, previously Arkansas Power & Light, as a transmission engineer, designing many of the transmission towers found in Arkansas and in other states. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed the challenges it provided. He worked with the company for more than 30 years.

He retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant (E8) after over 30 years of service, including active duty, Army Reserve and National Guard. His last assignment was with the 25th Rear Area Operations Center of the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Because of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Morgan has passed into the gates of heaven, reunited with family and friends who have gone before. His remaining family in Christ rests in knowing they will see him again.

Morgan is survived by his wife, Faye Larie Morgan of Sherwood; and daughter, Christie Jean Ison, son-in-law Joseph Ison, and brothers: Charles (Eleanor) Morgan and Horace (Kay) Morgan and grandchildren, Morgan Ashley Ison and Benjamin Joseph Ison, of North Little Rock. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer, Sr. and Nora Jeanette Morgan.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 J. F. K. Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116, (501) 791 7400. A graveside service will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas at 11:00 A. M., Wednesday April 11th, 2012.
