To Mrs. Pirani's Family, What a joyful blessing to me to have known Mrs. Pirani and to attend the celebration of her life today. A beautiful day to remember her. I did not know her well, I knew her as we would come and go to our local grocery for many years. She was a short person and one could barely see her head as she drove her dark blue car about town. I recall hearing many stories of neighboring when the Pirani's lived in West Memphis next door or at least close by to the McGinnis Family. We moved to Marion in the early 70s and our street was not fully completed with homes at that time. Soon after we arrived we were invited to the Pirani Home for a Christmas drop in. It was very kind for Mr. And Mrs. Pirani to open their home for neighbors on our street. You see, we had five young children and of course they were excited to go to a party. We had a really nice time meeting some of our neighbors at that time. None of our children are shy and so they decided we were on first name basis with the Pirani Family and before I knew it our oldest, a boy, Scott found his way to the Pirani's yard to jump on the trampoline. From that experience, we became owners of a trampoline because the children enjoyed playing on it and I did not want them to wear their welcome out at the Pirani Home. As far as I know they were gracious to the children and I hope were not to much of a burden. As the children grew, four of the five became the paper carriers for the local paper. It was very important to them to be sure the paper was delivered inside the garage for the Pirani's. You see, they had their favorite customers. To think back on our time in Our Town, we have made many memories, just like we began to attend the annual spaghetti supper at the Pirani's home church. I can visualize Mrs. Pirani hurrying about wearing an apron as she and the ladies worked and cooked so the supper would be a success and it always was. You all have had a great teacher in your Mother and Dad and I am so glad to have had a small glimpse of their family as you continue on in their ways. They are not gone, they are living on in your lives and hearts. I shall be thinking of you in the coming days as you adjust to her not being here now, but knowing where she is should be a treasured comfort to each of you. I might add as the Christmas season is very soon, we always enjoyed the Pirani's Christmas lights and decorations and as the years went by the absence of the decorations and lights was noticeable. Just one of Mr. And Mrs. Pirani's contributions to Our Town.

Mrs. Pirani has been a life long friend of the Carter family. From an early age (probably age 3 at Judy's wedding) I have held the opinion that Maxine was a role model of beauty, grace and Christian love.

She will be missed, but I can only imagine the joy she has being reunited with Adolph and her family.

Peace and prayers of comfort to the Pirani family.
