He is preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Rosemond Sills; and his brother, James Robert Sills.
He is survived by his wife, Alta Sills of 26 years; 2 sons, James Robert Sills (Wendy) of Bells, TN, Tommy Buford of Earle, AR; 3 daughters, Dena Buford of West Memphis, AR, Teresa Jerrolds of Adamsville, TN, Sandra Powers of Earle, AR; 7 grandchildren, Geoffrey Eugene Sills, Robert Scott Sills, Robin Michelle Sills, Jeremiah Geralds, Tyler Geralds, John T. Buford Sr., Hunter Buford; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Janette Boggan of Brownsville, TN, Doris Rankin of Brownsville, TN, Martha Kelly of Alabama; 3 brothers, Charles Sills of Brownsville, TN, David Sills of Brownsville, TN, and Bobby Sills of Alabama.
