April 4, 1943 - October 26, 2012

Donna Poole Goodfellow, 69, of Marion passed away Friday, October 26, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. Donna was born April 4, 1943 in New Martinsville, WV. Her family soon moved to West Memphis, where she grew up and graduated high School.
Donna was married to her true love, Fred, for 50 fabulous years. She was known for her love of singing, dancing, decorating and large dangle earrings.
Donna was voted most wittiest in high school and kept us laughing throughout her life. She also won an all night Dance-a-thon where she danced straight for 24 hours. She kept on dancing till her last day on earth.
Donna's greatest love were her three children. She was known for waiting up till her kids got home and cooking anything they wanted for them and all their friends no matter what time it was.
Donna, lovingly known as '''Nonna'' to her grandchildren was the most incredible grandmother in the whole world.
She will be missed by many but Heaven just received it's most dazzling angel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosemary and Louis B. Poole, Sr. and her brother, Louie Poole, Jr. She leaves behind her husband, Fred Goodfellow; her sister Marilyn Carroll (Ray) of Jonesboro, AR her brother, Robert Poole (Patricia) of Marietta, GA; son, Mark Goodfellow, of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Jonathan, Joanna, and Alexis; son, Matthew Goodfellow (Rhonda), of West Memphis, AR; grandchildren, Hannah, Sophie, Grace, Taylor, and Cooper Edmonds; daughter, Jill Childers (Joe), of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Jacob, Clay, and Lucas Bozeman, Adam Childers, and Kaitlyn Childers Griffin.

Fred, your friends from the class of 59 all share in your loss. We all enjoyed being with you and Donna at the meetings for past reunions. Donna was such fun,
always finding things to share and laugh about. Personally, I appreciate the two of you sharing in the
50th anniversary reception for myself and Bill. It was
so good of you to take the time for us. Just know that you and yours are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Fred, Jill, Matthew & Mark:
As you know, Donna was a wonderful lady. She had such a joy-filled spirit, truly a gift from God. She was a beautiful woman and we are all very lucky to have known her. I'm sure the angels sang her all the way to heaven and she would have sang right along with them... We love you.

Fred, Mark, Matthew and Jill (and Donna's family): I am deeply saddened to hear of Donna's death. She was in my constant prayers since I heard of her illness. When I thought of Donna, the immediate picture that came to mind was that she was always smiling, laughing, and always looking beautiful. Growing up with you all, there are so many fond memories, including singing with her in the choir at St. Michael's (she always loved singing and had a beautiful voice) and babysitting for you. I pray for all of you during this difficult time - I know there is nothing I can say to ease the pain, and hopefully you can find comfort in all the wonderful beautiful memories you have of her. I loved the video tribute, it is evident she truly enjoyed life and loved her family. Love and hugs to you all.

I was so saddened to hear of Donna's death. I have such wonderful memories of times we shared in high school at school, Church, the Devil's Den, and Cy Perkins. Donna was always so much fun, and I can see from her obituary that she continued to be throughout her life. I know she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time.

To the Goodfellow family,

I 've had Donna in my prayers since I knew she was sick. Each day as I drove by your home to and from work, I was reminded to pray for her and you all to have strength just for that day.
I can't say that I knew Donna very well, but I do recall the days when we all took our children to Safari in the summer and she and Candy would come together there and we would all visit as the children enjoyed the pool. She was always helpful to Candy with the music recitals and the refreshments afterward. Since my children took piano from Candy at that time, we enjoyed that time with her as well . A hello now and then at the grocery store while we waited in line to check out was always one of an uplifting conversation. There was a time she worked at Pappagallos in West Memphis and she was fun to help us as we shopped. She was gifted with combining clothing and accessories together that were the most attractive. She was a very friendly and gracious person in the community. She will be missed and I offer my sincere sympathy to each member of her family. She will live on as you all mimic and carry her many attributes of friendliness, a beautiful smile and a genuine concern for those around her in your lives. I have enjoyed the video that you as a family shared with the viewers. As the images depicted her life, she seemed to be just as colorful in life as her pretty clothing and her neatly coiffured hair

I pray God will bring pleasant memoriesand strength to each of you as you adjust to life without your Wife, your Mother and GrandMother, your Sister and your friend.

Sincerely,
Chris Shoemake

Freddy. words seem so inadequate to express my feelings in your time of loss and grief. You and Donna were such gracious hosts to open your home to the reunion committee as we worked on our class reunion. Those were fun times an fun days. You can take comfort in the knowledge that you and the children did so much to make her life rich and full. And the loving care you gave her during her illness must have greatly eased the that dreadful time for her. She loved people and every one loved her.
