Lola Jean Childers, 88, of Mt. Pisgah passed away Sunday February 12, 2017. She was born April 6, 1928 in Mt. Pisgah, Arkansas, to the late Claude and Arrah Haney.

Lola Jean was a lifetime member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church where she was very active and faithful. She retired from International Shoe Company after many years of service.

Lola Jean had a special gift and talent for playing music. At the age of 14 she taught herself how to play the piano and organ. Her love for playing music remained strong throughout her life. Her musical talents were a blessing to many people.
Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, and growing flowers at her home. Lola Jean also enjoyed watching her husband play baseball. During those years she attended all of his games and was his biggest fan. Lola Jean was very devoted to her family. She was great wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She was preceded in death by one brother; Charles Haney and one sister; Juanita Baughn.

Lola Jean is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jerrell Childers, one son; Keith Childers (Mecy) of Phoenix, Arizona, two grandsons; Clint Childers of Nashville, Tennessee and Tate Childers of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters; Winnie Smith and Inez Holleyfield, and four brothers; Donald Haney, Claude Haney Jr., Thomas Haney, and Kenneth Dale Haney and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February16, 2017 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy with Rev. Donna Harvey and Rev. Clayton Bulice officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in the Mt. Pisgah Community.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clint Childers, Tate Childers, Darrell Haney, James Haney, Donnie Joe Stanton, and Ronnie Holleyfield.
