James Edward ''Ed'' Williams, 81, of Greenbrier passed away on September 3, 2016. He was born July 19, 1935 in Searcy, Arkansas, to the late Oscar and Mary Williams. He is also preceded in death by his son, James Jeffery Williams; brothers, Vernon and Kenneth Williams; sister, Annette Liggett.
Ed was a member of Bono Baptist Church in Greenbrier. He began his career of over 60 years in the grocery business at age 11, delivering groceries on his bicycle to residents of Searcy. Ed worked for Kroger and later opened Ed's Thriftway in Clarksville, Newport, Hope and Truman. He finished his career working for the Sara Lee Company where he retired after 10 years of faithful service.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Williams; two sons, Steve Williams (Karen) and Mark Williams all of Greenbrier; two grandsons, Sam Williams and fiancé Alecia Morrison of Llano, Texas and Jackson Williams of Greenbrier; three brothers, Winford Williams (Sue Ann) of Searcy, Darrel Williams (Marcia) of Shannon Hills and Stoney Williams (Betty) of Longview, Texas; also many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy with Pastor Tommy Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in White County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Searcy.

So sorry for your loss. I remember Mrs. Williams at McRae Elementary School in Searcy. She was so good to my Mom and our family. Blessings to all the family.
