A.Z. Covington, 74, of Searcy, went to be with his Lord on Friday, August 8, 2014. He was born on Monday, September 4, 1939 in Clay, Arkansas to the late William M. and Inez Bedwell Covington.
Mr. Covington was retired from Arkla Gas Company, a veteran of the United States Army and he loved to go to yard sales and flea markets. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Searcy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Readis Covington and Martin Covington; and a grandson, John Tyler.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Leavenia Covington; son, William ''Bill'' Covington and wife Cindy of Siloam Springs; daughters, Teresa Turley and husband Jeff of Heber Springs, Lora Jett of Bigelow and Tracie Thompson and husband Monty of Searcy; sister, Minnie Plummer of Searcy; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, August 11, 2014, 10:00-11:00am in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home (501)268-3546. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the chapel with Brother Kenny Roberson officiating. Interment will be in White County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bronson Turley, Evan Butler, Maison Thompson, Trevor Jett, Jeff Turley and Monty Thompson.
