Thank you Papa for always being so strong and always there whenever any of us needed you. Although I wasn't really your child or grandchild you always treated me just like I was. From the time Hootie and Wroten started coming to Missco you and Nanny Ann were such an important part of my life and of our entire families life. Through thick and thin you were there with your advice and your jokes that Nanny Ann would say Hugh Lynn not in front of the kids and we were all grown by then but you would tell me anyway and they were always so cute and funny. Bryan, Trey, Quinton and baby Hugh Lynn (Early Bird to me) I love you boys and I know Papa loved you too. I couldn't have picked out a better person to adopt as my papa than you. Thank you for everything and I will always love you and will miss you. Carolyn

As Hugh Lynn's nephew (Vans son), I will always appreciate his kindness when my Father died many years ago under very difficult circumstances. Although we only met once, my memory of him and uncle Edward as thoughtful gentlemen has remained with me. My very deepest condolences to Ann and her family.

I am saddened to learn of Hugh Lynn's passing. He was a fine person. I remember when he would take Barbara Ann and me to the movies in Wilson. He would make a special trip to take us there and drop us off. In those days it was never a problem to find a ride back to Sandridge.
