Nina Ruth Dobbins

of Mountain View, AR

May 5, 1934 - March 12, 2017

Nina Ruth Dobbins, age 82, entered into her Saviour's presence on March 12, 2017. She was born in Quitman, Arkansas, to the late George and Cleo Hooten on May 5, 1934. After spending her childhood in Quitman, she attended Arkansas State Teachers College (now the University of Central Arkansas) where she met the love of her life, JW Dobbins. After a brief courtship they married and moved to Memphis, Tennessee where JW attended dental school. They later moved to Heber Springs and then settled in Mountain View to raise their family.

She was a member of Flatwoods Baptist Church for 34 years. Known to all as ''Maw'', she always met everyone with a smile and a hug. She loved her ''Livewires'' and the many hours they sang and fellowshipped together.

Her greatest joy was her family, always present in their lives, guiding by example, loving unconditionally.

She will be loved and missed by three sons, Jacob W. Dobbins and wife Pam, Joey C. Dobbins and wife Becky, and Jeffery F. Dobbins and wife Lori. Seven grandchildren, Matthew F. Dobbins, JW Dobbins, II and wife Allison, Jacob C. Dobbins, II and wife Lee Sun, Trey Lightfoot and wife Christy, Michele Dobbins, Laramie Dobbins, and Will Cody Dobbins. Nine great-grandchildren, Haley Dobbins, Rachel Dobbins, Hannah Dobbins, John Isaac Dobbins, Reece Dobbins, Caroline Dobbins, Amrey Lightfoot, Braylee Lightfoot, and Lane Lightfoot. One sister, Juanita Barefoot. One brother, Robert Hooten and wife Maureen. Many nieces and nephews, and her much loved friends, Imogene Thomas and Nadine McGhee.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, JW Dobbins, and her sister Geneva Davis.

Funeral services will be held at Flatwoods Baptist Church, Thursday at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be JW Dobbins, II and Maxie Haynes. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers are Phillip Dobbins, Dave Corley, Charles Duell, Steve Dobbins, Matt Dobbins, Jake Dobbins, and Will Cody Dobbins. Funeral arrangements by Roller Crouch Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Flatwoods Baptist Church Mission Fund.

What a Beautiful and wonderful lady, who never met a stranger and made friends within moments after meeting her. Bennie and I had the great opportunity of meeting and getting to know what a great person she was through out Aunt Jean Dobbins, their friendship was very special as they were Sister in laws. Our relationship with Nina Ruth was very special, she was always first on our list of people to visit when we was in town, she will be missed so much by all who had the wonderful privilege of knowing her, especially her Sons, all of her close knit family and the pride of her life, Grandchildren. Our sincere condolence and comfort are with the Dobbins Family.

Nina Ruth was quite a lady and we are blessed to have had the privilege to get to know her. Carlos has fond memories of "the threesome" Nina Ruth, Maxine and Imogene, in his Flatwoods Sunday School class. We both grew to love her dearly and will certainly miss her big smile and warm hugs. We find comfort in knowing that we will see her again in Heaven. When we think of her, Proverbs 31:28 comes to mind. We are praying for God's comfort in the coming days.
In HIS Love, Carlos and Leane Jones

Words cannot express how deeply sadden I am of learning of Mrs. Nina's passing. It has been an honor and pleasure to have met and known her these past several years. She always greeted me with a smile and in return brought the smile out of me. My heart goes out to family and friends. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Sincerely,
Ann Cartwright
