Bertha Lea Tharp, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Woodbine, Iowa. Bertha was born February 1, 1924 in Mountain View, Arkansas to John Wesley and Matilda Isalene (Goodwin) Jeffries. Bertha worked at the Senior Center in Mountain View and was a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church.
Bertha is survived by her husband Roy L. Tharp; two daughters, Ginger Tharp and Irma Kerger; four grandchildren, Renee Kerger , Tony Ray Kerger, Tommy Ray Kerger, Tammy Jean Kerger; two great-grandchildren, Tara Kerger and Jaden Hackett, along with a host of other family members and friends.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; eleven siblings, and one son, Robert Keith ''Bobby'' Tharp.
Services will be at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 2:00PM with Brother Dale Hershberger and Brother Randy Long officiating. Interment will be at the Sugar Hill Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas
Pallbearers are Jeremy Ackerman, Garner Treece, Jackie Halpain, Jerry George, Oliver Halpain, and Billy Lee Halpain.
Honorary Pallbearers are Donnie Moore, Johnny White, Frank Taylor and Jimmy Engle.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
