Captain Richard Franklin Finnie, Sr. (RET), 81, of Locust Grove, Arkansas passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at White County Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born on March 16, 1934 to the late Morrison and Eunice (Paulin) Finnie in Greenfield, Massachusetts. He was a retired Captain with the United States Marine Corps and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mountain View, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Paula (Williams) Finnie of the home; four sons, Thomas, Timothy, Christopher, and Richard Jr. Finnie; fourteen grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morrison and Eunice (Paulin) Finnie and one sister, Carol Morrissey.
A rosary and prayer will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mountain View, Arkansas beginning at 10:30 AM. A memorial mass will follow the rosary and prayer beginning at 11:00 AM with Father Henry officiating.
Inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church Columbarium.
Military honors are being provided by the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Team and the Stone County Honor Guard.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
