Don Wilson, 74, of Fifty Six, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas.
Don was born on September 11, 1940, in Mountain View, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Nancy (Jannie) Pitts Wilson. Don was a Christian man owned a barber shop and worked as a barber for 36 years. They rode everyday enjoying each other, each minute.

Don is survived by one sister, Martha Isabelle Sweat of Fifty Six, Arkansas; the love of his life, Betty Rose; nieces and nephews, Steve and wife Phyllis Wilson of Mountain View, Arkansas, Leslee Franks and wife Brenda of Harrison, Arkansas, and Jim Sweat of Fifty Six, Arkansas, Linda Sweat of Fifty Six, Arkansas, and Leann Waddell and husband Bill of Fifty Six, Arkansas; along with the Rose family and many other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Nancy (Jannie) Pitts Wilson; two sisters, Renda May Widebrook and Ruby Franks; one nephew and sidekick, Jeremy Sweat.

A visitation will take place on Friday, January 16, 2015, from 1-2PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. IT is with deep regret that I learned of Don's passing many days after he was gone. I knew of his poor health and was fortunate to see him a couple of times last fall. Don was my barber for many years, and a neighbor, who always had time to stop by when he passed our house and saw us outside. He would help anyone. I can't think of all the times he let me use his woodworking shop and tools. My family will miss him.

Dear Aunt Betty and Don's family,
You are all in our thoughts and we wish you peace. We'd like you to know, knowing Don Wilson since as early as we can remember, has been a gift. As children, we had no way of knowing the impact he would have on the people we would become but as adults, we know our lives are richer having known him.
Knowing the hometown barber, going to the shop after hours, and free haircuts made us feel special. Children do not easily forget an adult that makes them feel special. Don taught us at an early age there is no need to judge a book by it's cover. The story inside is the gift.
Some of our favorite childhood memories are from time spent with Aunt Betty and Don in a truck. Together they taught us not having a road does not mean a path can't be created because unbeaten paths are only roads less traveled. The effort and risk that comes with creating your own way is fun and worth the discovery of something beautiful. And when possible, discover it in style; in our mind, Don always had a new truck.
These adventures with Don and Aunt Betty are the early beginnings of our love and appreciation of nature. They shared their love of nature with us to the extent that even though we never lived in Arkansas, those hills are what we think of when we think of home.
We will miss him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Melissa, Jerry, and Bryan Rose
