James Edgar ''Ed'' Davis, 88, of Saint James, Arkansas passed away on October 19, 2014 in Batesville, Arkansas. Ed was born on February 5, 1926 in Pleasant Grove, Arkansas to the late Nathan Walker and Mable (Blair) Davis. Ed was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II. He married Marie Younger on December 28, 1948 and worked most of his life as a carpenter and a farmer. Ed spent his last three years as a resident of White River Health Care in Calico Rock, Arkansas.
Ed is survived by his son, Roger Davis and wife Carolyn of Desha, Arkansas; grandson, Scott Davis of Desha, Arkansas; brother, Sam Davis of Pleasant Grove, Arkansas; sister, Euna Fantasia of Chicago, Illinois; along with many nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Walker and Mable (Blair) Davis; wife, Marie (Younger) Davis; son, Eddy Lee Davis; brothers, Jim, Jay, and Eugene Davis; and one sister, Irene Davis.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from 6-8PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, 2:00PM, at Saint James United Methodist Church in Saint James, Arkansas with Rev. Bob Burton officiating. Interment will take place at Saint James Cemetery in Saint James, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Darrell Ford, Rob Ford, Randall Davis, Keith Davis, Terry Hall, and Kent Brewer.
