Russell Paul Ward, son of Joe H. Ward and Inez Russell Ward was born in Optimus, Arkansas on September 15, 1935, and passed away on September 11, 2014 in Batesville, Arkansas.
Paul was a graduate of Arkansas Tech and was a retired teacher and coach. He was an avid sports fan who always supported the Chicago Cubs and Arkansas Razorbacks. Paul was a member of the Lindsey Masonic Lodge #292 of Timbo, Arkansas as well as Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge #202 of Mountain View, Arkansas.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He also enjoyed playing with Bruno, his Yorkie puppy.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Balentine Ward; his children, Kristy Ward Ivy and Daniel; and Terry Lynn Ward; his grandchildren, Jeremy Ward and Kade Ivy; a great-grandchild, Isaiah Ward; a sister, Doris Ward Hall and Dean; a niece and many nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Inez Ward; a sister, Peggy Ward Roper; a brother, Glen Ward; and a nephew, Allen Ward.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2014, 2:00PM at Fifty Six Baptist Church with Brother Junior Barham and Rev. David Campbell officiating.
Pallbearers are Galen Hall, Ricky Hall, Eddie Morgan, Ward Roper, Brady Smith, and Jason Treat; honorary pallbearers were Keith Branscum, Denny Anderson, Jeremy Ward, Kade Ivy, Isaiah Ward, Tim Ward, Bob Roper, Billy Steele, Berl Taylor, Randall Branscum, Hunter Branscum, and Colt Cox.

So sorry I missed the visitation and services for Paul. I got so sick and was actually in bed all day Sat.and Sun. You know How I feel about your friendship and Karl and I both love you dearly. Please stop by when you buzz by the house.
Betty and Family, We are sorry for your loss. I will always remember Paul for calling my Dad and checking on him after they were friends at the Nursing Home and both had gone home for awhile.
