of Fifty Six, AR
February 7, 1935 - April 29, 2018
Horace Hudspeth, 83, of Fifty Six, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Izard County Medical Center in Calico Rock, Arkansas. Horace was born on February 7, 1935 in Pleasant Hill, Arkansas to the late James Otto and Inez (Wallace) Hudspeth. Horace was a member of the Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church. He was a farmer and owner of Hudspeth Sawmill.
Horace was a man of God. He was strong in his faith and raised his family accordingly. The outdoors was a place Horace loved. Hunting was his favorite past time, a love he instilled into his sons and grandchildren. Stories are numerous of his hunting adventures. There was always a monster buck, that may have really been a one horned spike, or a big gobbler that he would chase across ridges. The stories are big but the memories he left behind are bigger. Horace loved his grandkids. He was proud of their accomplishments and never minded when their deer or turkey was bigger than his. He will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, and grandpa.
Horace is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Esker (Branscum) Hudspeth of Fifty Six, Arkansas; three sons, Timmy (Kim) Hudspeth of Woodland Park, Colorado, Tony Hudspeth of Fifty Six, Arkansas and Tracy (Sammie) Hudspeth of Drasco, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Grant, Audra, Josey, Garrett, Zadey, and Addison Hudspeth; one sister, Bonnie (Hudspeth) Cartwright of Fifty Six, Arkansas and many other family and friends.
Horace was preceded in death by his parents, James Otto and Inez (Wallace) Hudspeth and one brother, JW Hudspeth of Wichita, Kansas.

Tony, I sure am sorry to hear about this. Just letting you know I'm thinking about you, and praying for you all. God Bless.
I was just in a shock when I saw this on the Obits. I had not heard about his departure for his Heavenly Home. He certainly was a good man......I always enjoyed your whole family, my prayers so out to you Esker and all the family. I have an appointment and cannot attend the service but my love for you all on my heart.
I liked that man, It was always a pleasure to do business with him at his sawmill.
Aunt Esker and family, no words can describe the sorrow we feel for the loss of Uncle Horace. Our hearts are heavy as we grieve with you and the entire family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. At this point all we can do is take comfort in knowing he is in a far better place with no more pain. Our thoughts and prayers will be with each of you during this time and the days ahead.
We love you all and if you need anything, we are only a phone call away.
Much Love,
Kevin and Ann
