Ann K. Brown, age 69 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 at her home. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas on March 9th, 1947 to Cletus Keathley and Marie (Cook) Keathley.

Ann was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marshall and also attended East Lawn Freewill Baptist when her health allowed. Ann began her career as a teacher and taught home economics at Shirley High School. She then worked at Leslie High School teaching English. The majority of her working career was spent as the Searcy County Cooperative Extension Agent for 36 years. Through this job she has reached out and touched many lives. Her career was spent being committed to the development of community and children in Searcy County and the surrounding area. Throughout the span of her career she was given numerous community service awards including the 1988 communications award from the Arkansas Association of Extension Home Economics for her radio spot on KCGS leading to a national award from the National Association of Extension Home Economics; Arkansas Public Affairs Award in 1988; 1993 County Extension Agent of the Year; 1994 Distinguished Service Award for the Arkansas Association for Family and Community Education. Ann also served on the Board of the Buffalo River Community Development and was on the Searcy County Industrial Development Committee. She started the Leadership Arkansas program for Searcy County and was instrumental in bringing and organizing many other beneficial programs for her community, too numerous to mention. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who selflessly served her family and community.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Lane Brown of the home; children, Jack (Alesia) Brown of Seattle, Washington and Jill Marie (James) Cady of Little Rock; grandchildren, Keathley Ann Pinney-Brown, Jon Lane Pinney-Brown, James Patrick Cady, Joshua Michael Cady and Joseph William Cady; sister, Othelia (Kenneth) Anthony of Conway; and brother, Charles Martin Keathley of Sherwood. Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Ann will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28th, 2016 at the Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Sean Milliken officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. Burial will be in Settlement Cemetery near Shirley, Arkansas.

My heart is broken but God has gained a great angel in heaven. Ann is one lady that made such an inspiration on lots of people. She loved her job at work and her family. We will miss you Ann but we know you are in a better place. We will meet again sweet lady.
