Bobby Hugh Massey, age 82 of Marshall, Arkansas, (formerly of Durand, Michigan) passed from this life on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. He was born in Big Flat, Arkansas on May 26, 1932 to Thedford and Mary Massey.
Bob graduated from Big Flat High School in 1950 and joined the United States Army afterward where he earned the rank of sergeant very quickly. In 1952, Bob began working in commercial construction and spent the next 45 years honing his building skills. He married Carolyn Sue Carter on September 4, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was blessed with a green thumb and was passionate about his garden and flowers. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising bluetick coonhounds. Bob had an incredible sense of humor and always had a joke and/or story to tell. In his later years, Bob enjoyed living and working on the farm of a special friend, Demoi Clark. Bob was a loving father and a doting grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife, Carolyn S. Massey; brother, Conley Massey; and a very special dog named Prissy.

Prayers for Bobby's family. I never got to meet Bobby, but heard many stories about him from his brother, Troy. Troy, Conley, Jessie & Bobby were my grandpa's cousins. The old cemetery overlooking Long Creek is a fitting resting place. I pray for peace for each of you & know you all have fond memories to treasure.
