Cristo Thanasie Sarantos, age 62 of Leslie, Arkansas passed from this life on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at his home. He was born in Midland, Michigan on April 09, 1952 to Alfred Johnson and Helen (Pickens) Johnson. Cristo was adopted by Nick Sarantos and Georgia (Clark) Sarantos.
Cris enjoyed restoring old vehicles and often did body repair work. He liked to spend his Monday and Friday nights watching wrestling on TV. He loved talking on his CB with his many buddies and most nights would find him chatting with them.
Cris is preceded in death by his parents; his adopted parents; and three brothers, Linioul Dale Johnson, Johnny Johnson and Rick Johnson.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Lenora Ellen (Spears) Sarantos; eight sons, Rocky Sarantos, Jeramie Sarantos and Adam Sarantos, all of Michigan, Jacob Spears of Florida, Leon Hopkins of Kentucky, Chris Hopkins of Oklahoma, Dusty Huffine and Travis Huffine , both of Kentucky; five daughters, Angela Burns of Michigan, Becky Powers of Kentucky, Amy McKinney of Tennessee, Heather Hopkins of Arkansas and Patricia Chapman of Kentucky; twenty-six grandchildren, plus 2 more on the way; sister, Mary Ann (Bob) Wolf of Ohio; brothers, William F. (LaDonna) Johnson of Michigan and Kenny (Donna) Moffat of Michigan; and a good friend ''Doc'' of Leslie, Arkansas.
Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Floyd Church in Midland, Michigan. Burial will be in Floyd Cemetery in Midland, Michigan. A local memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Oxley Baptist Church, Hwy 66, with Brother Norman Smith officiating.
