Lora Watkins Taylor was called to Heaven on Sunday, May 06, 2012. The Searcy County resident was 97 years old. She was born on December 20, 1914 in Snowball, Arkansas to Henry Watkins and Mary Hephzibah "Bedie" (Manes) Watkins.
Lora was a life-long resident of Searcy County. She was a homemaker and worked for the Snowball school. She also worked at the Flintrock Shirt Factory in Marshall. She was a long-time correspondent for the Marshall Mountain Wave writing the Snowball community news. Lora was an avid quilter, completing her last quilt before her 97th birthday. She was a singer, loved to garden, sew, can vegetables, but above all she loved to read her bible. Lora was an inspiration to all that knew her. She was a very loved and cherished lady.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Troy William Taylor; one son, Hual David "Dave" Taylor; three brothers, Omer, Alvin and Reuel Watkins; and two sisters, Onie and twin sister Cora Watkins.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelby Brasel and husband Dean of Harrison, Troylene Jones and husband Bill of Alexander and JoAnn Feemster and husband Mike of Fayetteville; one daughter-in-law, Kay Taylor of El Dorado, KS; eight grandchildren, David Taylor and wife Betty of Atlanta, KS, Brian Taylor and friend Valerie of Wichita, KS, Jeff Brasel and wife Rebecca of Valley Springs, Troy Brasel and wife Candice of Searcy, Mike Jones and friend Jamie of Alexander, Kelli Gaylo and husband Mark of Alexander, Cameron Horton of Snowball and Michelle Kelley and husband Shane of Marshall; two step-grandchildren, Jake Feemster and wife Mandy of Bentonville and Joel Feemster and wife Cinda of Centerton; ten great-grandchildren, Ty Taylor, John Taylor, Aldan Taylor, Gemma Taylor, Lake Brasel, Hannah Brasel, Hunter Brasel, Trenton Brasel, Rylee Kelley and Tate Kelley; four step great-grandchildren, Will Feemster, Cayden Feemster, Rylan Feemster and Ryne Feemster; two sisters, Lee Ann Renfroe and Veleda Tyner, both of Harrison; one brother, Rutherford Watkins of Harrison; two sisters-in-law, Etta Mae Watkins and Della Watkins, both of Harrison; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Lora Taylor at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 09, 2012 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Troy Brasel officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 till 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 08, 2012 in the Chapel. Burial will be in McDaniel Cemetery in Snowball.
Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Mike Jones, Brian Taylor, Cameron Horton, Mark Gaylo and Shane Kelley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Brasel, Troy Brasel, Kelli Gaylo and Michelle Kelley.
