Jewell Dean, Norman Wayne and Family:

I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Bertha and Uncle Fate were the most remarkable couple I've ever known. As a child growing up in Californa, when our parents (Dale & Lela ) would annouce our vacation plans for the year would be "Arkansas!" My sister (Sharon) and I eagerly anticipated our summer adventures.

My plans were always to spend absolutely every minute I could hanging out at Uncle Fate and Aunt Bertha's. I loved going with them to the "sale and livestock auction." At their house, Uncle Fate would let me slop the pigs, feed and milk the cows and he could always be "sweet-talked" into saddling up a horse for me to ride. However, it was Aunt Bertha who has a special spot in my heart, because it was at her side that I discovered my love for cooking and baking. She was patient, tender-hearted, loving and one of the sweetest people I've ever known. It was at her side that I learned to bake biscuits, pies, cobblers, cakes and all kinds of cookies! She was generous with her time and loved sharing her favorite scriptures and bible stories with me.

My prayers are with you and your family. We can rejoice in knowing she's with her Savior and will enjoy peace and life-everlasting!
