of Little Rock, AR

June 25, 1941 - February 6, 2017

Alfonso (Al) Gracia Galindo, 75 of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 6, 2017. He was born to Encarcion Galindo and Julia Gracia Galindo on June 25, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a sheet metal worker and also a letter carrier by trade.

As Connie's second husband, Al became part of her family and blended into one. He established many family traditions, two of which were Christmas tree trimming parties-family only please, and Easter Pinnacle Mountain picnics. After he became ill in 2005 all his children were eager to assist and accommodate him. One particular grandson, Andrew, had a special bond with Al. When he was first walking, Connie observed him dragging his right foot while walking behind Grandpa. Al was so flattered, as imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

He will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracy Lovato; two sisters; and eight brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Connie Galindo; sons: Donald Lovato, Stephen Briner, Stewart Briner, Adam Briner, and Aaron Briner; daughters, Sandee Lovato and Michelle Briner; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with Father Mark Wood officiating, burial to follow at Hicks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen, Stewart, Adam, Aaron, Brandy and Andrew Briner.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800.

Dear Connie,
Bernie and I are so sorry about Al's passing. Our heart goes out to you with sympathy and love. We always looked forward to seeing you two in church and admired the stamina that Al had - he never gave up. I know you have both been through a lot of pain and we wanted the help you. Bernie enjoyed talking to Al after church. God bless you, dear friend. Remember, Jesus is just a whisper away. He is reaching out to you with great Love and Compassion. Remember "Footprints" when there was only one set of footprints. Like then, Jesus is carrying you now. Dear friend, we are here for you if you need us. We love you.

Al was my daughter's grand-dad. I was only a part of the family for a couple of years. He was a nice person. He was always willing to help a grand daughter when needed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Al has been a friend to my family for just about as long as I can remember. From working beside my mom to just hanging out with my dad, he was always there for them when they needed him the most. We will carry nothing but good memories of Al with us. We were always happy to see him, and he was always quick to start up a conversation. He was always so kind to me and my daughter...Me and Kaylynn, both, are going to miss "Mr. Owl".

I am thankful for Al and the way he took care of my mom and family. He always came to birthdays and graduations and was content just to be present. I know he was a hard worker earlier in his careers in sheet metal and mail carrier. I had some great visits with him and prayer times together recently. I am so glad he had given everything to the Lord and put His hope in Him. We will always remember him and his antics, the funny faces he made at Hannah and Adaya. In heaven one day Al will be there to welcome us home, I know he is free from physical cares and enjoying real life and joy as a worry free child does. Thanks for the help Al.
