Patricia Ann Strickland Dennis

of Bryant, AR

May 4, 1932 - June 2, 2016

Patricia Ann Strickland Dennis earned her angel wings on June 2, 2016. Pat was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on May 4, 1932. She had been looking forward to a joyful reunion with her beloved husband of 62 years, Al Dennis. Joining in the heavenly celebration were her parents Rev. Raymond and Virginia Strickland, brother R. T. McQuiston (Evalynn) and baby sister Francis Strickland.

Pat was a devoted servant of the Lord at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant. She was the church librarian along with her many other duties including collecting attendance records, serving in the kitchen and buying church food supplies. She was an active member of XYZ and enjoyed the trips and fellowship with other seniors. She cheerfully volunteered to work in Vacation Bible School. In past years she served on numerous committees and sang in the choir. She was a deacon's wife. Her life was centered on her church family. She loved her pastors, Bro. Tom Williams and Bro. Don Chancellor.

In addition to her church family, she cherished her family. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Grable (Phil) and Cindy Wheeler (Ron). The light of her life were her four grandchildren- Shawn Smith (Kim), Shelli Goldthorpe (Andy), Lindsi Reed (Shey) and Brent Wheeler and her eight great grand children- McKenzie , Nick and Noah Kerry, Beau Goldthorpe, Reagan and Jaxon Hutchins, and Hayley and Landon Knapp. They affectionally called her Nanny Pat.

Pat retired as a manager from Southwestern Bell Telephone (now AT&T) after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Pioneers of America.
She was known for elaborate holiday decorations and was featured in the Benton Courier with her large Santa collection. Every year she would make a trip to the War Eagle Fair and load her car with her finds. Since her mother was an interior decorator, her interest in antiques stated at an early age.
Her energetic nature was evident at an early age. She often spoke of how she earned extra money mowing neighbors' yards with a push mower. Then she would have dinner on the table when her parents came home from work. She learned her excellent cooking skills at a very young age. She was known for the flakiest pie crusts that would melt in your mouth.

A time of visitation with the family will be held 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2016 at Indian Springs Baptist Church, 23581 Interstate 30, Bryant, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Indian Springs Baptist Church Library or XYZ.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at John 5:28,29
(28). "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (29) and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment".
