Eldon John Messerschmidt, age 88, of Norfork, Arkansas passed away September 9, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born December 5, 1927, in Dolton, Illinois to Arthur J. and Edna L. (Koehler) Messerschmidt.
Mr. Messerschmidt married Dorothy C. Burns May, 3, 1952, in Dolton, Illinois. He is a retired general foreman from Interlake Steel, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mountain Home.
Mr. Messerschmidt is survived by two sons Richard Messerschmidt of Overland Park, Kansas and Phillip Messerschmidt (Cheryl) of Carbondale, Illinois, two daughters Joy Blank and husband Tom of Norfork, Arkansas and Jody Miller and husband Trent of Mountain Home, Arkansas, four grandchildren Cameron, Angela, Jason and Domino and four great grandchildren Lydia, C.J., Xander and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and many siblings.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Roller Funeral Home with Reverend John Easterling officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday from Noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
Mr. Messerschmidt will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He always wore a smile.
