Mrs. Virginia F. Powers, age 92 of Mountain Home passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Mountain Home. She was born June 27, 1923 in Fairmont, West Virginia to Edward C. Horne and Delta Bosserman Horne. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing the organ and her trips to Disneyworld. She is survived by 2 sons: Richard Powers of Texas and Mike (Vera) Powers of Clinton, AR; a daughter: Melinda Powers of Mountain Home; a granddaughter Angie(Jason) Nixon of Bentonville,AR and 2 great grandchildren Josie Mae Nixon and Dawson Nixon; cousin Jo Claire Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. Max Powers, 2 brothers and her parents. Visitation will be from 12-9 PM Friday, May 13, 2016 at Roller Funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6-8 PM. A funeral will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, May 14 at Roller Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Heath Hogan. Interment will follow in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
My deepest sympathies to family and friends on the death of Virginia. She was my husband's oldest sister, very much loved by him and enjoyed by all of us. She will be missed.
