Hank was always a very kind and generous man to myself and my family. He imparted his knowledge of many different topics willingly. You are together with your sweet wife Mae now. We will miss you and remember you always.

I only met Hank once and went to dinner with him and our friend Neil. I am always thrilled to meet a fellow veteran, especially those that served in time of war to ensure the freedoms that all we fellow Americans enjoy. Hank enjoyed simple pleasures including dinner at Western Sizzlin and Bobby Sue's. I was glad to have met him and be welcomed by him into his home. He honored us all by his selfless service and great sacrifice for our country in the Army Air Corps.

In the short time that I knew Hank I grew to respect him, honor him, and love him dearly. Hank loved to share the stories of events as a young boy growing up in Missouri, a man in the military helping to shape the history books, and a telegrapher on the railroad. Hanks stories mesmerized and amazed me. Listening to the phases of his life walked you through a man’s remarkable time during the War when history was made. Hank honored and loved his country, and he gave so much of himself to many. We have lost another of our Greatest Generation and he will be greatly missed. Farewell dear friend.

Hank is forever a proud member of America's Greatest Generation. As a young man he served in the Army Air Corps. His commitment to freedom and selfless service to our nation contributed to the defeat of Nazi Germany and hastened the conclusion of World War II. He spoke reverently of his fellow soldiers who perished in that conflict. Now he closes ranks with them, in dignity and honor. Well done, Corporal Shearer. We love you and remember you always! With deepest respect, Neil
