I am stunned to hear that Carmen is gone! She and I worked together at SCAN a very long time ago. I don't know if I've known anyone more full of life and who gave so much back to life. My condolences to Carmen's family on your loss. I will always remember Carmen fondly.
To Carmen's family and little Lilly, I pray for God's peace in your time of hurt and healing. I smiled so big when I saw the beautiful picture of Carmen on this page. She was one of a kind. There are very few people that dedicate their lives to helping make a change in the lives of others, but she did. She took the problems of others on herself to help heal them and that is the greatest work a person can do. I will always cherish the times we spent together and I will not forget all that she taught me. May you rest in peace my sweet friend! I love you!
Prayers for all the family.Matt hang in there.

Carmen was my therapist for almost four years. I am totally devastated about this. Carmen was my best friend, she was the only person who ever understood me. She saved my life. I feel so bad for her husband and for lily. She's so young, that I hope she remembers how wonderful her mother was. At least she's not suffering anymore and that she's in heaven and is looking over her
Family. God be with her family and anyone who knew her.
To Matt Lily Sara Dick Becca Brett Carla and all the family/friends . Words cannot express how thankful I am that you shared Carmen with me . She has made an everlasting imprint on my heart and made me a better person. Carmen touched so many lives and was so genuine and caring. She will be missed but remembered always. I pray for comfort for you all during this difficult time but have peace knowing she is whole again free from the suffering and watching over us. Sincerely, The Bowgen family

So very sorry to see this on face today..Know it has to be extremely hard to lose a child..Don't know if you remember me but we were at convention in New Mexico in 1954 or 55..Our love and prayers. Richard and Irene Simpson
I went to high school with Carmen. Though we lost touch over the years, I thought of her very often, and it doesn't surprise me that she became a social worker. She has always had a light and a gift of understanding others. Her smile and her sense of humor stick in my mind. This woman had a large influence on me and helped me be the strong person I am today. My deepest sympathy to the family. She will be missed. She's one of the most beautiful individuals I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Our sincerest deepest sympathy in the loss of your daughter. Wonderful to know that our
God of all comfort is with you thru these sad sad days.

Dearest Dick and Sara,
While praying for you and Carmen's family I came across this passage from the prayers of Jesus as he was about to leave this world, it is found in John 17:24 Father I will that they also, whom thou hast given me (Carmen) be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory which thou hast given me:
Love,
Bobby McElroy

Words can not express...My heart aches for you all. So many memories flood my mind of times through the years at Texarkana convention and many letters written back and forth between the two of us during the year when we were teenagers. I remember the last time I saw Carmen in your (Dick and Sarah's) home one Sunday morning when Scott was working in LR. Loved seeing her again and catching up and meeting Matt and little Lilly. Loved that we kept in touch ever since then with photo holiday cards sent back and forth each year. Thankful that Mona Jo let me know of her illness early on a couple of years ago so that I could send her a letter letting her know I was thinking of her and was proud to have memories of our friendship. I could go on and on…my heart breaks for you all. My thoughts and prayers are most definitely with you all. I hope you know how much you all are loved, as was Carmen. She will forever be in my heart.
Carmen fought a long and hard battle. She was a really gallant Lady. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lilly and Matt and the families.
My prayers go out to the family. Carmen was a wonderful lady whom will be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. So sorry for your loss.
