Robert Lee Hodgman ,97, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away at Forsyth Nursing and Rehab, Wednesday, March 08, 2017.

He was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, August 19, 1919 to William and Geneva Hodgman and spent much of his youth in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He spent four years in the U.S. Army and received honorable discharge after serving in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany.

Robert attended the University of South Dakota and received a BE degree in 1951.

Mr. Hodgman spent his working career in Chicago as an auditor for Liberty Mutual Life Casualty Insurance Company, auditing third party fire and fidelity claims.

He lived in the Chicago area until 1981 when he retired and moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas. He remained in Jonesboro until 2015 when he moved to Forsyth, Missouri for long term care.

Mr. Hodgman was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Metcalf, in 1961 and by his second wife, Georgia Weston, in 1999.

Survivors include his sister, Shirley Hodgman, Rapid City, South Dakota; daughter, Barbara Haller and her spouse, Michael Haller; step daughters, Kathy Fearn and her spouse, Arnold Fearn and Carol Suzanne Price and her spouse, Frank Price; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Legere officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
