George Carol Hollingsworth, Sr., age 67, of Jonesboro passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born March 23, 1949 in Cash to the late Thomas and Clara Brown Hollingsworth. He worked construction and was of the Baptist belief. He served the in U.S. Marines during Vietnam.
Mr. Hollingsworth is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his son, George C. Hollingsworth, Jr. of Kissimmee FL; a daughter, Peggy Johnson of Jonesboro; a grandson, George C. Hollingsworth, III; and a sister, Helen Beard of Frederick, MD.
Chapel services will be 11 am Monday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Bill Legere officiating. Interment will follow at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye with military honors.
Visitation will begin at 10 am until time of service.
