Eldon Wixson, 83, of Jonesboro, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at his home. He was born March 24, 1932 in Fisher to the late K.L. and Ruth Ward Wixson. Mr. Wixson was a retired farmer and businessman. He received a B.S. in business from ASU. He was a member of the Fisher First Baptist Church and a member of the Fisher Lion's Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He loved reading and being with his grandkids and great grandkids.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, C.H. Wixson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Ernestine Ball Wixson; two sons, Ward Wixson of Drasco and Marshall Wixson of Collierville , TN; three grandchildren, Dustin Wixson of Maumelle, Haley Wixson Jones of Jonesboro and Bryan Wixson of Collierville; four great grandchildren, Andrew Wixson, Reece Wixson, Desmond Jones and Anna Claire Jones; and a brother, Johnny Wixson.
Chapel services will be 1 pm Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Weiner with Jeff Juynor officiating. Burial will follow at the Fisher Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 am until the time of service.
Richard Jones, Donald Glenn, Dustin Wixson, Rayburn Thompson, Bryan Wixson and Ray Davis will serve as pallbearers.
The Fisher Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, lasting memorials can be made to the Fisher Baptist Church.
I am so very sorry for the loss of Mr. Eldon. He was a kind and sweet gentleman. My prayers are with the family. God bless you all.
