Sheila Ann King, 54, of Toccoa GA, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009. She was born in Jonesboro on July 18, 1955, to the late Donald Ray and Lillian Shirley Gallion King. Ms. King was employed with the City of Toccoa from November 12, 1981 until November 12, 2005. During her tenure with the city, she served in the police department as a dispatcher, lead dispatcher, and adminstrative secretary/systems operator. She held certifications as a dispatcher and TAC (terminal agency coordinator). She retired in 2005. She graduated from Truett-McConnell College in 2000 with an associates degree in business.
She leaves behind her daughter, Angela Addis and her husband Woody of Toccoa GA; two grandchildren, Wyatt Richard Addis and Whitney Raeann Addis; six brothers, Larry King, Lowell King, Ed King, Lonnie King, David King and Wynndel King all of Jonesboro; and three sisters, Lila Huddleston of Jonesboro, Nora Davis of Chandler AZ, and Darlene Harrison of Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Garry King and Allen King.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Gibson Cemetery with Gary Gipson officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8:00 p.m. at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
