Billy Joe Cook
September 21, 1934 - October 24, 2009

Billy Joe Cook, 75, of Jonesboro, passed away on Saturday October 24, 2009, at his home. He was born in Bono on September 21, 1934, to the late Joe and Delphia Barnes Cook. Mr. Cook was a truck driver for Swift Ice Cream and a wrecker driver. He was of the Church of Christ belief and loved working on cars, gardening and playing with his grandchildren.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Edna Dement Cook of the home; three sons, Gary Cook, Tommy Cook and Dale Cook all of Jonesboro; a daughter, Carolyn Foster of Harrisburg; two brothers; Ralph Cook and Jerry Cook; two sisters, Ruthie Hancock and Susie Minton; six grandchildren, Angela Meridith, Mallory Galyean, Tyler Cook, Joshua Cook, Jordan Cook and Stephen Cook; and a great grandson, Alexander Galyean.

He was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and a daughter, Barbara Meridith.

Funeral services will be held Monday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel in Jonesboro, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with Kenneth Gossett officiating. Burial will follow at Lorado Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include his sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Foster, Eddie Meridith and Robert Cook.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
