Amon D. Hartwick, 95, of England, AR, went into the arms of the Savior, January 17, 2018. He was born June 10, 1922 in Guy, Arkansas to the late Waco and Minnie Hartwick. He was married to the late Lois McAlister on March 8, 1945. They were blessed to be together for 63 years, until her death in 2008. Amon is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son; Roger A. Hartwick and two brothers; Donnel Hartwick and B.H. Hartwick.

He was a World War II veteran who proudly served his country as a sergeant in the Army, he received the Purple Heart from wounds he received on June 12, 1944 at St. Mary Eglese, France after the invasion of Normandy. After spending a year in the hospital he began his career as a butcher for the Kroger Co. In 1966, he bought and operated the IGA grocery store in England, AR until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in England, Arkansas.





He is survived by his son; Grady Hartwick and his wife Lisa, daughter-in-law; Kim Rowe, grandson; Jeremy Hartwick and his wife Chelsea, all of England, AR. Grandson; Justin Hartwick of Indianapolis, Indiana, granddaughter; Heather Miller of Ohio, great-grandsons; Carter Mangrum of Sheridan, AR an Jensen Hartwick of England, AR. One brother; Roy Hartwick of Russellville and a sister; Barbara Jean Albright of Guy, AR.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 20, 2018 with a visitation one hour prior to the funeral at Roller-England Funeral Home, 202 Stuttgart Hwy, England, AR. Burial will be at Mulberry Cemetery in England.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was an amazing person and I enjoyed the time I got to spend with him at the nursing home. I will always remember "papa"..

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4
(3) "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. (4)
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".
