Sidney Steve Bonds, 57, of Clinton, Arkansas, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014. He was born April 6, 1956, in Conway, Arkansas, to Kelley Bonds and Merle Baker Bonds of Clinton, AR.
He resided in the Clinton area all of his life, having graduated from Clinton High School in 1975. Sid chose truck driving as his life's profession. His love for trucks began as a young boy while going on trips with his father. He worked for many years as an independent truck driver and for Melton Truck Lines and Wal-Mart on cross-country and local delivery truck driving jobs. During his time with Wal-Mart, he was honored with many safe driving awards and won several driving contests held by the company.
Sid's hobbies included working on his vehicles and working on the family farm. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed trying new recipes especially on his grill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Sid is survived by his wife, Shelia Bowers Bonds; daughter, Amy Bonds Collins of Dennard, AR; son, Kelley ''Cruz'' Bonds and wife, Charlsey, of Conway, AR; sisters, Donna Ricketts and husband, Harvey, of Bentonville, AR, and Linda Lewis and husband, James, of Greenbrier, AR; brother, Max Bonds and wife, Kathie, of Greenbrier, AR; two grandchildren, Kelley Collins and Kennalea Collins; several nieces, nephews, family members and many, many close friends.
Visitation will be 2:00-3:00pm, Sunday, March 23, 2014 in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton. A celebration of life service will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
