Mr. Rose was the consummate teacher and role model. He helped enumerable young people on their journey through life and always had something positive to say about everyone. Dale will be missed here on this earth. God surely prepared a mansion for him in heaven.

We had the privilege of knowing Coach Rose through his participation in the Clinton Volleyball Program. Both our daughters, Genie and Lily, became better people, as well as volleyball players, with the help of Coach. For many years he was an important role model for our teams giving freely of his time, knowledge, and love of volleyball. Our Couch Rose was not only a mentor for the girls, but a good friend to their parents as well. This wonderful man will be greatly missed.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Rose. Growing up in Valmeyer, he was my neighbor, teacher, and my coach (for 2 track meets that I remember going to in that Westfalia van of his.) He was a very positive influence on the many, many kids he taught and coached over the years in Valmeyer.

My sympathy to his family and friends- Mr. Rose devoted his life to kids - over 40 years ago he was my softball coach and I can still remember painting his porch at eh "Red Carpet Inn" in Valmeyer and the many games of Rook he played with my family at our home. I never knew after he left Valmeyer where he went - too many years passed. I am sure he is in Heaven now!

Saturday mornings at 9 am Mr. Rose was always ready to guide the 5th and 6th grade girls through volleyball drills in the gym. It was very exciting during those times when he bought a video recorder (this was very high tech in 1975) and would video tape our practice so that we could better learn skills. He was always encouraging and took extra time to help students when needed. He taught me in Junior High and even drove the bus which at times had to be stressful full of a bunch of loud screaming pre-teen girls. He was a man of integrity and will be fondly remembered by the Valmeyer alumni that were lucky enough to know him. My prayers are with you.

Mr Rose was a great coach. All of us Valmeyer Alums have great memories of him. This world was a better place because of teachers/coaches like Mr. Rose. Please take comfort in the fact Valmeyer will miss Mr. Rose very dearly.

My sympathy to all of Dale's family. As bookkeeper of Valmeyer School, I worked many years with Dale and he was a very dedicated and giving person. He did more and gave more to our district than many people realized. He was truly missed after his retirement!!!

I have alot of great memories of Mr. Rose as a teacher, coach and neighbor. He was a very passionate coach & teacher and always wanted each student and athlete to push themselves beyond what they thought they could achieve. Reading all the postings from former atheletes has made me realize what a mark he has left on us all. I'm sorry I didnt get to talk to him at the volleyball game last fall. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Dale was such a fixture around Valmeyer and the school that he lleft a void when he disappeared from our scene. Back when CDs were the coming thing, he always had a new one to tout and encourage people to purchase. He was also the "media man", Please accept my condolences for your loss.

RIP Mr. Rose,

Mr. Rose was a close friend of my husbands family and even lived and vacationed with him for many years. He lived across the street from me and was my track coach through jr. high. I would mow his grass ever week. I even remember - as all you who were young when he was living in town - how he always gave out full size candy bars for halloween! He lived next door to my grandparents and was great friends with my aunt and uncle. He video taped our wedding 27 years ago. He was always into the newest electronic gadgets...lol. I have so many memories. He will be greatly missed

My condolences to the family. I remember Mr. Rose from my days in highschool back in the 80's. He was always kind and easy going. Even though this is a time of morning we should also rejoice and celebrate the life he lived. He's in a truly better place praising our Lord Jesus. God bless.

The first Volleyball coach of my entire career as a volleyball player
and as an athlete. I am grateful for the positive introduction he gave me into athletics which lead me from grade school thru college. Prayers and thoughts to family and friends alike. He is and forever will be missed on and off the court.

Dale will be sadly missed by my family and me from Valmeyer. I first knew Mr. Rose when he was my grade school PE teacher, math teacher, and volleyball coach. Dale was a great friend, teacher, mentor, and fellow co-worker. He encouraged me to attend Greenville College and become a PE teacher and coach. Some of my fondest memories were later teaching and coaching with Dale at Valmeyer School. I was so happy to see him last fall where he attended a HS volleyball game in Valmeyer. It was a great honor to visit with him. He will be sadly missed, but happily remembered.

Mr. Rose was an inspiration to so many young people and their families in Valmeyer. His passion for sports and his love for his students shone through in everything he did. He always gave 100% and encouraged us to do the same. I will always remember him fondly.

Mr. Rose was my coach for many years. While I can recall my experience of his coaching. I think what is most impressive is that the track teams were only in Valmeyer because he was willing to coach. He did more for the community than I believe he realized.

So thankful to have known "Coach Rose" and for the positive influence he had on my daughter, Erin. She looked up to him and always talked about how patient he was with her and her team mates. He leaves a wonderful legacy through what he taught everyone he came in contact with. Well done, Coach!
