Lola Yancey Flynn, 94, of Ash Flat died Wednesday at a nursing home in Ash Flat.
She was born in Oxford, AR on September 18, 1918 to Huston Amon and Cassie (Pearson) Yancey.
She was a strong-willed, hard working person who enjoyed sewing, quilting and playing the guitar and singing. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and canning vegetables. Her children and grandchildren were the most important things in her life.
She is survived by two sons: Bobby Flynn of Kansas City, KS and James Flynn of Evening Shade; three daughters: Anna Faye Qualls of Evening Shade, Geraldene Brandon of Ash Flat, and Joyce Owens of West Plains, MO; two step-daughters: Earma Cox and Louise Fisher both of Athens, TX; 14 grandchildren: Steve Flynn, Linda Tully, Robert Flynn, Brian Qualls, Sandi Harding, Kevin Brandon, Debra Brandon, Mindy Cowell, Jimmy Lee Bryant, Cassie Guscette, Frances Flynn, Barbara Milton, Shanna Flynn, and Sarah Flynn; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother: Stanley Yancey of Melbourne; and one sister, Cleffie Berry of Memphis, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William Dean Flynn; stepson, Ray Flynn; four brothers: Virgil Yancey, Noal Yancey, Joe Yancey, and Duane Yancey; five sisters: Clair Reynolds, Norma VanWinkle, Jeffie Lea Yancey, Essie Rea Duke, and Mildred Thomas; one grandson, Vernon Dean Flynn; and one great-granddaughter, Briana Tully.
Pallbearers will be Brian Qualls, Marshall Milton, Steve Flynn, Brandon Flynn, Derek Ford, and Author ''Bo'' Berry. Honorary pallbearers are Brad Cowell and Edwin Ray Yancey.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Crouch-McGee Chapel in Cave City with Jim Weston officiating. Burial will follow at Evening Shade Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
