Ms. Rita Mae Cregger Polston, 73 years, 8 months, and 26 days of age, of Strawberry, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2009 at Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on January 15, 1936, at Hawk Point, Missouri, the daughter of Lloyd Edwin (Buck) Cregger and Inez “Gram” Evelyn (Robinson) Cregger. She married her husband, Cledis on November 6, 1954. Ms. Polston was a faithful employee for fifteen years at General Tire. She then worked at Precision Lures for another fifteen years before becoming clerical Manager at Hooked on Plastics. After work there for three years, she decided to retire. Ms. Polston was of the Pentecostal belief and a member of the Rosebud Assembly of God in Saffell, Arkansas. She enjoyed visiting other churches with her friends and loved gospel music. Mamaw looked forward to the annual Watermelon Festival held at Cave City. She attended and thoroughly enjoyed all the community revivals that were held at the city park. She is survived by one daughter: Linda Lanig and husband, Keith of Columbia, Missouri; seven sons: Denny Polston and wife, Brenda of Cave City; Ricky Polston and wife Cindy of Batesville; Ronnie Polston and wife, Tammy of Sulphur Rock; Randy Polson and wife Stacy of Strawberry; Scotty Polston and wife, Sharon of Cave City; Robbie Polston and wife, Michelle of Cave City; and Michael Demster and wife, Patty also of Cave City; two step-daughters: Kathy Finney and husband Larry of Sandtown; Diana Lynn Polston of Quitman; five former special daughters-in-law: Debbie Anderso, Debbie Tacker, Kim Carpenter, Wanda Polston and Beverly Tuggle; twenty-two grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three dear friends: Mickie Gay, who always welcome Ms. Polston to her home when needed; Louis Gray and Sue Cook, who were always there to lend a helping hand with her oxygen bottles and a host of many friends. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cledis E. Polston, on July 31, 1994. Pallbearers will be Frank Fowler, Andy Carter, Stan “Pollock” Wojcik, Dino McLaughlin, Dan “Giggles” Smith, Brent Woods, and Scotty Pitcher. Honorary pallbearers are Delbert Melton, Howard Melton, Alfred Polston, Jerry Polston, Curtis Polston and Alan Adams. Funeral services will be at Rosebud Assembly of God in Saffell at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, with Rev. Mike Ring officiating and Rev. Chris Bigness assisting. Burial will be Dry Creek Cemetery in Lynn under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
