Christine Asberry

Christine Asberry, 86, of Strawberry died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

She was born June 26, 1922 in Strawberry the daughter of John Tompkins Holland and Queen Rose Mullen Holland.

Christine was a very avid reader and loved to talk with knowledge on almost any subject. She enjoyed working outside in her yard and garden; loved her dogs and cats; and loved and enjoyed all of her family. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Strawberry.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Asberry and his wife, Demona of Paducah, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Michael Asberry and Melissa Simpson of Monroe, North Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Simpson, Colby Simpson, Logan Simpson, Justin Asberry and Mackenzie Asberry, all of Monroe, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleade Asberry; two infant sons; three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, at Roller-Crouch-McGee Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Harold Boyd officiating.

Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery at Strawberry by Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers are Howard West, Michael Asberry, Kenny Simpson, Elbert Gay, Gary West, Brandon Simpson and Justin Asberry. Colby Simpson is an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11th.
