October 8, 2017

Daniel Lynn McQueen, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on October 8, 2017 surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. Danny was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 14, 1941 to Walter McQueen and Doris Brown McQueen.

Danny attended Ouachita Baptist University and was a member of the Heritage Club at Second Baptist Church.

He worked many years for Missouri Pacific Railroad/Union Pacific Railroad and then at the Little Rock Wastewater Utility where he gained many special friends, including Billy, Ava, Steve, and Tim.
Danny loved hunting and fishing, and telling tall tales of his adventures. He recently returned from his annual fishing trip to Canada with special friend, Buddy Emerson.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Danny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Nickell McQueen; daughters, Susan McQueen Raines (Brian) of Bentonville, AR, Melanie McQueen Block (Jake) of Nashville, TN, and Patti McQueen Hickam (Dan) of Little Rock, AR; his brother Brock McQueen (Ann) of Little Rock, AR; nephew, Ian McQueen (Erin); niece, Megan McQueen Crow (Nick); the grandchildren he loved so dearly, Olivia Claire Raines, Ashlyn Grace Raines, Benjamin Wyatt Block, Owen David Block, and Brandon Elliott Hickam; and special neighbor, Mary Maier.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all the wonderful staff at CARTI, especially Dr. Grace Raja and Ashley; the care team on the 10th floor; ICU at Baptist Medical Center; and the many angels that prepared liver and onions, sent cards, and delivered homemade cookies.

Visitation will be from 6:00- 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in his name to Second Baptist Church, 222 E. 8th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202.

We only knew Danny as a good neighbor up the street. The few times that we saw Danny, he was always attentive in every way.
Our prayers go out to his wife Peggy and families.

Dan was a brick, a great friend, solid and dependable with a wonderful sense of humor, and always fun to be with and talk to at work or in the grocery store after retirement from LRWU. It was a privilege and pleasure to know him and work with him. I will always remember Dan with fond memories and thankful I knew him. I extend my sympathy, but with gratitude that he was with us for as long as he was. and that we all have such wonderful memories of him to remember.

And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes,+ and death will be no more,+ neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.+ The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) This prophecy tells us that one day we will see our dead loved ones again in a new world! Please seek Jehovah God to see his promises fulfilled.....
