of Little Rock, AR
May 28, 1952 - May 7, 2016
Jim Fontenoy, 63, of Little Rock passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, May 7. He was born to Willard and Helen Fontenoy on May 28, 1952, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vicki Bailey Fontenoy; sons, Justin Fontenoy (Stephanie) of Covington, La., Tim Fontenoy (Jarin) and Andrew Fontenoy (Serena), both of Little Rock; daughters Monica Thompson (David) of Greenbrier, Mary Susan Miller (Tim), Abby Fontenoy, Darcie Fontenoy, and Joanna Ruth Fontenoy, all of Little Rock; brothers Don Fontenoy (Dottie) and Tom Fontenoy (Pat), and sister Carol Duckett (Bud), all of Clearfield, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren.
Jim was a kind and gentle man with a beaming smile and contagious laugh. His personal relationship with Jesus Christ was made known by how he loved and served his family and everyone around him. Jim was a long time member of The Bible Church of Little Rock where he served many years as the Awana Cubbies Director. His many years in Bible Study Fellowship also gave him a firm foundation of biblical knowledge growing his faith even stronger. His love of children fueled his passion to encourage and support adoptive families in their church. His Christ-like humility and loving-kindness will always be remembered by everyone that loved and knew him.
He grew up in the town of Clearfield, Pa, as the youngest of 4 children. He met his wife Vicki at St. Francis (Pa.) University where he graduated with his degree in accounting in 1974. He and Vicki were married on November 29, 1975 in Mobile, Alabama. Their commitment to each other is a lasting legacy that will always be cherished by their children, grandchildren, and future generations.
Jim had a love for the great outdoors and was in awe of God's creation. Living on their property provided a place of solace for him. He could be found working on projects outside with his loyal dog Chip by his side. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, watching Razorback football games and NASCAR races, Volvos, playing guitar, and listening to oldies and classic rock songs.
Jim faithfully and generously served and provided for his family. He thoroughly enjoyed taking his family on camping trips and vacations to the beach. His eight children will always remember his unconditional love for the Lord, Vicki, themselves, and his many grandchildren. Maggie, Harrison, Wesley, Sammy, Esther, William, Kate, Jack, Levi, Zeb, Mia, and Stuart all knew him as Papaw. His memory lives on in all he leaves behind, and the victory is that he is now communing with our heavenly Father.
Visitation will be held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at The Bible Church of Little Rock at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Bethany Christian Services in Jim's memory.
I was so saddened to get the news of Jim's passing! We were best friends in high school and had many great times together. I wish we'd had the chance to get together one last time to reminisce...
Brenda and I send our sincere condolences to Vicki and family.

Vicki and family - I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We worked together at Orbit Valve in the 80's. May you find comfort and peace during this difficult time.
Jim Fontenoy was a good friend and Better man. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years at ALLTEL and Windstream. We both loved to go to Whole Hog for lunch and did so many times. He was more than just a co-worker. He was a good friend. As others have said he was a kind man who always wore a smile. Jim's Christian faith and his love of family will be his lasting legacy. My condolences to Vicki and family.
So sorry, may god be with you and the family, the bomboy family

Vicki and family,
We are so sorry for your loss and are praying for you during this terribly difficult time. Jim was such a kind and compassionate man who let the love of Christ shine through and he will be greatly missed. We are so thankful to you both for raising your children in a Christ-centered home and for training them to love and serve our Lord. God has blessed us through knowing you and Jim and by allowing us to become a part of your family through Justin. We are eternally grateful that God provided, in Justin, such a loving husband to our daughter and an awesome daddy to our grandchildren. That's a tribute to God and your influence as parents. Vicki, we love you, and all your kids and grandkids, and promise to continually lift you all up in prayer. And praise God that you all have the assurance that you'll be reunited with Jim for eternity.
In Christ,

So sorry for your loss, praying for your family during this difficult time
Vicki and Family, I am so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. I enjoyed working with Jim at Orbit Valve many years ago and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I never had the opportunity to meet Mr. Fontenoy but I'm positive that he was a wonderful person which is evident to me through his son Justin. My heart is heavy for each of you in knowing that you have lost such a great man and at the same time I know that each of you are comforted by the fact that Mr. Fontenoy is now with our lord and savior. God Bless all of you.
Justin - Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. Watching you over the years, you are the beneficiary of a Father with a great depth and strength of character. And you and your Family will continue as a legacy for your Father. God Bless!
Sweet Fontenoy family,
I keep looking at this picture of Jim and thinking that he's in Heaven - probably smiling even bigger than we ever saw him smile (and he had one of the best, sweetest smiles at BCLR). He knows what Heaven looks like! He's seen Jesus face-to-face! Can you imagine?!
Yet, still, my heart aches so deeply for you all. I am praying that you will find comfort in the Lord...that only He can give, in the hope of the Gospel, the promise that we, too, will be in Heaven some day, and in the sweet memories of Jim.
We love you and continue to pray for you all!
Gina, Brad and the kids
Mr. Jim was an amazing person. His love for the Lord always shined through his service to many at BCLR.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
I loved his smile as he was working with the children in Awana.
Praying for the family and especial Levi.
My prayers to the family for the strength that God will provide to each of you in your loss.
UNCLE JIM, YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. YOU LEFT A MARK ON ALL OF OUR HEARTS WITH YOUR GREAT KINDNESS AND LOVE.
I did not know Mr. Jim personally, but his love for the Lord reached us in Covington, LA through his son Justin and his faithful ministry in Awana. I'm sure the example Mr. Jim lead attributed to Justin and his own ministry and in turn the touching of hearts for my own children. I am deeply sorry for your loss, my prayers are with your family, but moreover I am thankful that his love for the Lord rippled so far, that a man I never knew even impacted our family. What a beautiful life to live.
Praying for those left behind and rejoicing in knowing that he is with the Lord Jesus who alone makes that possible for all of us who are washed in His precious blood!
Vicki, I sned my sincere condolences in your loss.
I don't know if you will remember me, it's been a few years since I have seen you. I worked with Jim for several years at ALLTEL before i got laid off. He always had a smile on his face. I know he will be missed.
Praying for you and your family that the Lord gives you his peace that surpasses all human understanding. Rest in the knowledge that Mr. Jim is with his savior, and that all of us who believe in Jesus will join him one day for all eternity in heaven.
We love your family. We have many sweet memories of fun times and working alongside.
We share your sadness and tears and really look forward to eternity with no more death or separations. Our hearts grieve with you.
Vicki and family, we are so sorry for your loss and praying for you. Love in Christ, Ken and Nook
Tim, Jarin & Family, we are so sad for your great loss. May God Bless all of you with His sweet peace.

Jim will be dearly missed. I enjoyed working with him for many years and considered him to be a very good friend. His smile and conversation improved many hectic days at Windstream and Alltel. His commitment to God and family is truly admirable. My condolences to all in his family at this time.
We would like you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Even though we are far away, we are all still family and close at heart.
Sincerely,
Gary Duckett and Kellie and Abby Johnson
Your family has been on our hearts and in our prayers since we learned of Jim's passing on into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I (Jason) considered Jim a dear friend and enjoyed our years of working in Awana together and our talks at the Share N Swap. He was ALWAYS a joy be around! We will continue to be in prayer for your entire family and for the peace that passes all understanding. Our only hope is in Christ.
