Debra Jean Wright

of Little Rock, AR

January 15, 1958 - June 19, 2015

Debra Jean Wright, 57, of Little Rock, went to be with her Heavenly Father Friday, June 19, 2015. She was born Wednesday, January 15, 1958 in Little Rock to Harry Earl Brown, Jr. and Bessie Lee Cripps.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Earl Brown, Jr.; sister, Janet Kay Richardson; father in law, Wallace Felder Wright; and mother-in-law, Catharin Lois Wright. She is survived by her mother, Bessie Brown Shelton; her husband of 37 years, Wally Joe Wright; son, Jeremy Christopher Wright (Rebecca) of Bryant; daughter, Amanda Marie Young (B.J.) of Little Rock; sisters: Carolyn Ann Wright (Wayne) of Cabot, Danita Sue Hart (James) of Little Rock, and Sue Phillips (Ron) of Little Rock; granddaughters, Clare Grace Wright and Blaze Suzette Wright; special cousin and prayer partner, Vickie Anna White; as well as many other relatives and friends.

As a child, Debra always assisted with family babysitting and through this developed a strong love for children. She took care of children in her home, and later outside of her home as a nanny for numerous families who loved her dearly. She was also a volunteer for many years at Arkansas Children's Hospital in the NICU. Debra could often be found outside her home, sharing Bible stories and verses with children in the neighborhood, who lovingly referred to her as the ''candy lady.''

Debra was actively involved in her church, Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She was a woman of strong faith, and it could be said that her sole purpose in life was to share the kindness and love of Jesus with others. Her positive attitude and smile were contagious and affected all those who knew her. She was not a worldly person, but set her sights on her real home in Heaven, where she now walks hand in hand with Jesus.

A Celebration of Debra's life will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday June 25, 2015 at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. Visitation will be prior to service from 6:00-7:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10900 Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, AR 72212.

Debbie was a sweet person and God gave me the preveledge to know her and spend the last month and half with her at hospice she was a big inspiration in my life she was in good spirits all the way up to her death on Friday 19th 2:25 pm. She was in tons of pain but never let that stop her from displaying herself of her love for God it was amazing how much she loved God and she gave him all the glory and praise and the week before her passing she led a 15 year old boy to the Lord and he got saved and baptized the following Sunday at his church his mom made a video and brought and showed to Debbie her eyes just lit up with joy. She was just full of love for people and she loved to sing praises with the guys from church that would come visit and take the Lord's supper. Just a very Godly lady all the way around. She is with her Lord and Savior right now singing and worshipping with the angels in peace no more pain and agony no tears no suffering with a new body. Yes we miss her but if we had the choice to ask her back down here to us o know she would say I miss yall but I so want to stay here with God cause this is my forever home. I will always remember you aunt debbie u r in my heart and I love u and I want to c u again one day soon.

I read of your loss with such sadness. I knew Debbie and Wally through Mrs. Cathrin. She always spoke of Debbie with sweet words and how she loved her. The times your family visited our church ( FBC of Mayflower,), it was always a blessing. Prayers for yor family.

Thank you Mrs. Debbie for being a foundation for the "CAC group" to build their relationships on with one another in Christ. I'm moreover grateful for your influence on my individual walk with Christ , connecting me to DL Clowers for my baptism. Your thoughts and words are near and dear to my heart. You will be dearly missed sweet, caring spirit. Go in peace with Jesus.

I am so sorry for the loss your family is experiencing right now. Nothing can take the pain away. But, the realization that even if she were given the chance to come back, she wouldn't think twice about staying right where she is, should bring you great comfort! Once she laid eyes on Jesus, she knew she was home. Prayers for your family from mine.

Such sweet memories I have of working with Danita and Debra at National Investors. So sad to have lost touch over the years. I hate that Debra suffered so before God took her into his comforting arms. You are all in my thoughts and prayers through these difficult days. May your sweet memories comfort you through your grieving days. Love and hugs for you all.

My sincere and heart felt sympathy goes out to the family whom I've known and have come to love for so many years. I can remember a gathering at one of the homes one cold night and I did not have a working defroster in my car; so I had to roll the windows down going to WLR; then back home to NLR. It did not matter to me because I was invited out of God fearing love; so I went without hesitation. The family first loved me and took me under their wings during a time when it wasn't the most popular thing to do in the South. And I will never forget that. Through ups and downs, sad times and happy times, they have been my friends and I will always love them. I will miss Debbie but she is taking her rest now with the Lord.
With Love - Brenda Hampton
