John Allen Drummond, born July 27, 1923, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 15, 2014. He was led to the Lord by his grandmother when he was 9 years old and held tightly to his faith until his dying breath.

He served proudly in WWII as a bombardier/navigator and received numerous metals during his tour of duty over Italy and the European theater and got out of service with the rank of Major.

He retired from Phillips Oil Company in Borger, Texas as a Senior Chemical Engineer; there he lived for 30 plus years with predeceased wife Florence. He also invented the smoke stack that removes carbon black out of the oil refineries that is still used to this day.

He lived the last 30 years in Helena, Arkansas with his predeceased wife, Patty. There he was active in civics and a member of the 1st. Methodist Church. This last year he lived with his daughter Topsy Pelkey and son-in-law Gene in Maumelle, Arkansas. He became a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Maumelle, Arkansas and the Rock of Ages Sunday School. He is survived by his daughter Topsy (Gene), Grandchildren Bill Franks and Gwen Bowen, Stepson John Yonkers(Paula) and grandchildren John, Stephen and Kathy.

Two celebration of John's life will be held one at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Maumelle, AR. And the other will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2014 at First United Methodist Chapel with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Helena, AR. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 501-224-8300.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the Briarwood Rehabilitation and Hospice of Central Arkansas. The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Gideon International.
