Leonard R. ManoI am a Veteran.

of Little Rock, AR

September 12, 1923 - July 11, 2014

Leonard R. Mano, 90, of Little Rock, died on July 11, 2014 after a short illness.

Len, son of Joe and Gerda Mano, was born September 12, 1923 in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Along with his brother, Joe Jr., now deceased, he served during World War II as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps in England and France. Afterwards, he married his wife, Polly, to whom he has been totally devoted for the last 66 years.

Len, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at the University of Arkansas, graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He became a Certified Public Accountant and was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of BEI Electronics, Inc. before returning to public accounting as a partner in L.R. Mano & Company, CPAs.

His faith was evident in every facet of his daily life. He regularly attended services at Fellowship Bible Church and served as an elder and trustee at First Christian Church. At First Christian, he was a founder of the Believers Class and enjoyed singing in the choir and Men's ensemble. Passionately committed to helping people in need, he actively served in the First Christian Church Food Pantry until his stroke last month made physical participation no longer possible.

In retirement, he had opportunities to enjoy golf on a daily basis, solve crossword and Sudoku puzzles and invest even more time in the lives of his family that included his daughter, Jan Watson (Jim); son, Randy (Georgia); grandchildren, Scott, Jeni, Randall, Chris and Kirby; great-grandchildren, Noah, Piper, Cameron, Carson, Nora, Malen, Hixson, Julia, Ellie, Gus and soon to arrive, Avery.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211, (501) 224-8300 with Reverend Shelby Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

For memorial contributions, please support First Christian Church Food Pantry, 1500 N. Mississippi, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205, Compassion International, or your favorite charity.

Len was such a wonderful Christian man.
We sang together in the choir for many years and worked together at the food pantry.

He was so devoted to Polly, his wife.

I will miss him.

To the entire Mano family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have a lot of fond memories of the Mano family, especially Len, growing as a child in Leawood. Our families spent a lot of weekends at the lake and I grew up playing with grandchildren, Scott and Jeni. Len touched the lives of everyone he knew. God bless and prayers are coming your way.

Aunt Polly & Family

Sitting here this afternoon reminiscing all the good memories I have of the good times with Uncle Len. He was always so happy and full of joy, so pleasant to be around! My childhood of spending time with you two in the summers was always fun... remembering how he always got up from the table after meals and gave you a kiss! I always thought that was so sweet! The fond memories of him i will always cherish! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in the days ahead. only wish i could be there.

Hugs

Donna

I could tell enough stories about Leonard and his family's connections to my family over several generations to fill up this guest book but I'll just say I am fortunate to have known such a fine gentleman. RIP Len. We'll miss you.
