I saw Mr. Thompson at the post office a while back. It took me a while to realize who he was! I never had his as a teacher but he was right across the hall from my class. He was still going strong when I saw him. He had on his volunteer badge! That was how I realized who he was. I wish I had spoken to him but I know he wouldn't know me! Prayers for his family.

Dear Thompson Family,

As I sit here with a heavy heart, I remember what a wonderful teacher I once had. One that was tough and expected the best from his students. One that, through his gruff exterior, cared deeply for the kids that filled the desks in his room, many times a day. If you had trouble within his curriculum, he cared enough to spend any amount of time helping us to understand it more fully. I still have one of those long research papers that he assigned. His A+ in the right corner with CT underneath. He made a mark in me, one that has never, nor will be, forgotten. God bless you and I look forward to the day when I can tell him how much he meant to this 1981 grad of McClellan High School. Live well in Heaven, Mr. Thompson. You are loved.

So sorry for your loss. Mr. Thompson taught me at McClellan HS back in the early 70s. He was also a friend of my late Dad, Rev. Homer W. Haltom. I learned how to write a serious term paper from this man. Thanks, Mr. Thompson, you'll be missed.

Reverend Charles like Jesus saw needs, felt compassion, and then did something to help the people. Even more importantly he conveyed to people in the hour of need that Christ loved them and was with them....that regardless of their circumstances they could persevere with their eyes fixed on the Author and Finisher of our Faith. I have seen this dear saint of God delivering groceries to shut-ins in addition to coming in and praying and encouraging those in need. He will be missed but what a shining example he is to all of us to live as our Saviour intended us too---sharing the Gospel and also helping in practical matters as God directs.
Sincerely,
Mrs. M. L. Pleasants

I will miss seeing and visiting with Charles as he came by my table on Wednesday night prayer meeting.. He was so kind and thoughtful every time I
visited with him...but Just Think...Of stepping on shore
and finding it Heaven, Of touching a hand and finding
it God's, Of breathing new air and finding it celestial,
Of waking up in glory and finding it home. Gertrude Witt

So sorry to hear the passing of Bro. Charles. He was such a kind man. I got to know him by him coming into my workplace-Office Depot to buy supplies for all the bookmarks and cards he would send out. He always invited us to church, and has said quite a few prayers for things I have talked to him about. I have a new grandson that Bro. Charles send a bible to just a few months back, he was such a man of God. Know heaven received a special angel when Bro. Charles entered in those gates. Prayers of comfort for all his family and friends. So glad I got to meet this man here on earth, and know I will someday see him again in Heaven.

So sorry Lynda, Charles and Families to hear of your Dad's passing. He was my history teacher at Marvell. I learned a lot in his class and will always remember him and Mrs. Charlene Turner (who taught me in first and second grade) as my two favorite teachers. Brother Thompson touched a lot of people's lives both young and old. May God comfort you all through this most difficult time. Sincerely, Sue Ann
